The First Necklace Pond provides a good view of the Moon Bridge with the Weeping Red Japanese Maple in the foreground. Garden bridges such as this provide more than just a means for crossing a stream or stepping onto an island. They also give the visitor a place to pause and enjoy views of the garden such as a waterfall, reflections on water, fish in a pond, sun beams filtering through trees or the various colors and hues of the many plants and their foliage.
